There are many types of hoops used when hooping. As you grow with your hoop, you will start to explore the different types of hoop thicknesses, diameters, and weights. Your hoopventory (inventory of hoops) will likely grow to include a few hoops that each have a unique and useful purpose! The hoop shop (shop to buy hoops) has all types of hoops to fit your hooping needs!

Great beginner, intermediate, and advanced hoops. Choose from a variety of tubing. Excercise and dance hoops available. One inch hoops are heavier and great for beginners. Three quarter inch hoops are the best bang for your buck, being the most popular overall hoop. Three quarter inch collapsible hoops are great if you are always on the go or need to take a hoop with you on a trip. Half inch taped hoops are great for beginner off body hooping or for intermediate/advanced on body hooping. These hoops are quick and responsive. A super light weight white polypro hoop is also availabe. The white hoops are made from more rigid material, providing a different feel. Breath new life into your hooping by trying a new hoop today!

Great for intermediate to advanced adults, and beginner to advanced kids.
A pair of dance hoops are recommend, as these twins are designed to be used while double hooping.
1/2" black tubing is used for dance hoops. These are great for performances.

Great for intermediate to advanced adult hoopers.

Closure choices: PolyPro hoops can be riveted or closed with inner grip tape. If no choice is specified, polypro hoop will be rivited.

There are benefits to both rivets and no rivets. It's a personal preference. Both are great. The rivets ensure permanent closure. They also add a very light weight, which some people enjoy having. It affects the balance of the hoop a little and can be fun to play with that counterweight. Without rivets, the hoop is even weight, which some people enjoy as well.

With no rivets, I use a strip of grip tape inside the tubing to help ensure a stronger semi-permanent hold. Without rivets, it is possible to pull the hoop apart with force. The inner strip of grip can be customized to your choice (gray, white, teal blue, dark blue, purple, florescent orange, florescent pink, florescent yellow, florescent green, or black).

Size options: A 30 to 36 inch outer diameter size is recommended for these hoops.

Tubing options: A 5/8"Inner Diameter, 3/4"Outer Diameter white hoop is similar in size to a black 1/2" hoop.

Mini Hoops (pair of hand hoops)
$30 Mini Half-Inch Hoop Twins

Great off body hand hoops. These hoops will open a new genre of hooping for you. Explore what you can do with two little hoops! Sizes between 20" and 24" are recommended. Mini hoops use 1/2" tubing. A third mini hoop can be added for $10. This may be helpful if you are juggling or creating a hoop globe.

Popular hoops for hoopers of all levels. These 3/4" small diameter (30", 32", 34", or 36") hoops get your heart racing but also allow for on and off body hoopdance. Great for kids or advanced adults!

Girth of the Hoop Tube
There are three hoop tubing sizes availabe (1 inch, 3/4 inch, or 1/2 inch)

• The largest is a 1 inch hoop. This is typically used by beginners or for increased aerobic acitivity. The heavy hoop will help get you started having fun and getting fit.
• The 3/4 inch hoop is the most popular hoop size and can be used by beginners and advanced hoopers. This is typically more of a dance hoop, but can certainly get your heart racing!
• The smallest is a 1/2 inch hoop. This is an intermediate to advanced hoop and often used in pairs. Add some flair to your hoopdance by trying double hoops.

Diameter of the Hoop
There is a range of hoop sizes (20" to 22" for minis and 30" to 44" for regular hoops) . The larger the size, the easier the hooping will be. As you grow with the hoop, you may transition to smaller sizes. Advanced hoopers use all hoop sizes.

• 40", 42", 44" sizes are popular for adult beginner hoops.
• 38", 40" sizes are popular for adult beginner to intermediate hoops.
• 36", 34", 32" sizes are popular for adult advanced hoops.
• 38", 36", 34", 32", or 30" kids hoops depend on the size and height of the hooper. Some kids may find small adult hoops work the best for them. Kids 30" hoops are available for the next-gen hoopers.
• 22", 20" sizes are popular for mini hoops, specifically used for off body hooping.

How to Measure Outer Diameter Accurately

To measure a hoop you're currently jamming with, if you want to mimic that size, please measure the circumference of the hoop and specify he number in inches when you order. Use a fabric measuring tape if possible. That is the most accurate way to measure the outer diameter of a hoop to prevent any possible confusion of size. Measuring straight across or on the inside often gives a slightly different number and results in a different size hoop than expected.

Glow In The Dark Tape
Add glow in the dark hoop tape to your custom hoop for $10.

This high-energy long-life photoluminescent tape is yellowish in daylight and glows greenish white in the dark. (luminescence after 10 min. = 200 cd/lux/sq.m)

Travel Hoop Hinge
Add a travel hoop hinge to any 3/4" hoop for $5. The rotation when opening/closing the hoop occurs at the hinge.

Take your hoop with you everywhere you go. This is a great option for airport travel, hiking, car transportation, and walking around town. It is recommended to store your hoop long term in the open position.

The full hoop has two hinges (left). The hoop collapses to an infinity state (middle).
The hoop collapses again to a coil ready for travel (right).

*Note: The travel hinge design only works if the rotation occurs at the hinge. Do not hold the hinges while opening the hoop - this will result in kinking the hoop and is not covered by warranty. If you properly open and close a collapsible hoop, it will bring years of enjoyment! Demonstration to collapse and open your travel hoop is provided upon pick up.

Ship a hoop anywhere in the United States for $10. Hoops are shipped using FedEx. A tracking number is provided for you after purchase. Hoops are protectively wrapped.

ALLOW UP TO 4 WEEKS for all Hoop Shipments. Typical turn around is 7 days. Rush orders available.

Care of your Hoop

Please take care of your hoop to ensure years of enjoyment! Keep your hoop happy :) Respect your hoop!

DO's & DO-NOT's

* Do use your hoop often

* Do be aware of your surroundings before you start hooping

* Do store your hoop inside

* Do keep your hoop dry

* Do store your travel hoop in the OPEN position

* Do set your hoop in the sun if it has any signs of warping, then hoop with it

 

* Do not keep your travel hoop closed for days at a time

* Do not leave your hoop in a car (especially important when it is hot outside)

* Do not pull on your hoop

* Do not jump on your hoop

* Do not submerge your hoop in water

* Do not drag your hoop on hard surfaces (i.e. driveways, sidewalks, parking lots)

Warranty

All hoops have a three month warranty from the date of delivery or pick up. Warranty includes any defects to the hoop tape or hoop tubing. If the hoop is defective, a replacement with the same tape/pattern/tubing size and hoop diameter (i.e. an exact replica) will be provided. Improper opening/collapsing of a travel hoop resulting in a kink is not covered by warranty. Damage to the hoop due to preventable situations (see care instructions above.) are not covered by warrenty. Follow the list above to prevent possible damage. Enjoy!
